Confrence Time

Had an enjoyable night last night at Priesthood Session of Conference. Dad showed a little late but have always enjoyed sitting with him during conference. Talks that were given were very good. I must say I have never been a big fan of Ballard but I believe his talk last night about strengthening bonds between fathers and sons was spot on. Uchtdorf had a great talk on sticking through the hard times in our life, and Erying's talk on always being prepared and worthy when the lord calls or when the time comes was very good. Monson reminded us to hold dear our family ties and be quick to forgive and not get angry.....Todd and I are enjoying this morning's session of conference......feel free to post your thoughts about conference, I would like to know what others got out of the talks.

Christmas Highlights

December was a fun month for us. It was one of the best years ever for Christmas. It was so fun to watch all of our kids be so excited about Santa coming.

Note: Make sure you explain to your five year old that Santa comes on Christmas Eve, not the same night you put up your tree. That way they are not disappointed the next day and think Santa forgot them. Oops.

We love having five pitches on our house. When we put the Christmas lights up, it makes it feel like we are living in a gingerbread house. . . and THAT makes it worth it to the one who had to climb the tall ladder to put them up (even though she is terrified of heights.)

Christmas Eve was filled with the traditional festivities including spending the evening with the Cranors. Some of the highlights were food (delicious), games, toys, musical numbers(little Erin, Lauren, Erin, Jared), poetry readings (Bud), and three terrible twos (Logan, Thomas and Tylee). All-in-all, it was most delightful!

Christmas Day was FANTASTIC! Santa left his bag of toys! I guess he was in such a hurry to get to all of the kids, he had no time to unpack. The kids thought it was awesome!

Todd and Trevor were delighted to get Nintendo DS's along with several games. Unfortunately, mom was addicted to Super Mario Brothers, so they had to share. :-)

For Thomas, Santa brought a helicopter. At one time, the blades went around when you pressed a button. That worked for about a day, or maybe it was an hour, I forget.

(Notice in his picture the big blue wad of gum? Yea, thanks Santa for giving each of our children their very own package of gum. Don't be surprised when we leave you some carpet cleaner solution next year instead of cookies so you can get that gum out of our carpet. :-) Love ya Santa! )

Our sweet Tylee got a doll accessory kit to go with her twin cabbage patch kids she got last year. Her cousin Tanner gave her another set of twins! Talk about wonder woman. . . You'll see a picture in a later post of what I'm referring to.

Apparently being a mother of twins is exhausting. . .(I second that!)

Gardner Villiage

When we were down in Salt Lake City for Chris' reunion, we made a quick visit to Gardner Village. Gardner Village contains the outlines of the once bustling early Utah mill industry and history. What remains today is a cluster of retail specialty shops located in restored cabins, houses and buildings nestled adjacent to the Gardner Mill. The shops are decorated thematically by season. The kids had a ton of fun, especially in the candy shop. Enjoy the pictures.

October has been a fun month for us so far, with Todd full swing into football we have all enjoyed watching him grow in his ability to play and also for his love of the sport, he loves going to practice and has enjoyed pushing his opposing player around.
We also had the opportunity to attend dads Mission reunion which was the first one in 16 years. it was not heavily attended but his mission president and a few of his friends were there and the kids all had a good time playing with others their age. Here are a few pictures to share with you all.

Summer Activities

We have had a TON of FUN this Summer!!!!! With lots of Activities we have been very busy and are just now getting the last week of fun behind us. With trips to Lagoon, Fishing and Camping, Visits from Cousins, Birthday parties and Todd's baptism our Summer has been great and we have enjoyed most every minute of it. We especially enjoyed the Las Vegas Cranors spending 2 weeks here in Pocatello and then Camping in Island Park with them.

We are really blessed to have such wonderful family who support each other. These are just a few pictures that show a little of how summer went.

What It Means to Be an American Patriot

Well Congratulations needs to go out to our American Patriot.... Todd.

Earlier this Semester Todd entered an Essay at School sponsored by the Lions Club. We got a phone call in Late March letting us know that His Essay took 1st place.

In April we received a phone call that his essay won out of all Second grades in Idaho and Oregon. Needless to Say we were very proud and excited for him. We kept it all a secret from him until a week ago when we threw a surprise party letting him know that he had won.

We were invited to attend an Awards ceremony in Sun Valley, Idaho where he was honored for his essay. Along with a few certificates, he received a $100 savings bond.

His Family was invited to attend and so Grandma Eckenroed and Grandpa and Grandma Cranor along with Mom and Dad all made the trip to support him.

Breaking News.....Orphan Finds Home!

Our new Canadian Goose

Well Dad found a little orphan down at work and decided to save it from a what could have been an untimely death. Yep the little fellow was stuck in between the railroad tracks. So He did the only thing he could do, put it in his truck and bring it home for the kids to raise and when the time comes drop him off at his new home over at Porters (a real life family of Dr. Doolittle's) don't worry I have already talked with Roger so there will be no late night ring the doorbell and run scenario. The kids have fell in love with him and named him shadow due to his dark spots.

Spring.......New Beginnings

Well, It's April and I decided to put in some new information about the family. I talked with Amber and liz and they did not know we had a blog so I decided that since someone would now read this I should start to post more regularly. I even talked with Mom and she said she took a look at the November Post but wondered why there was only 1.
Todd is doing very well in school and his Teacher says he is very fun to have in class, She says his maturity level is much older for his age and she gets a kick out of dropping a few sarcastic remarks to the class to find Todd giggling in the background. We also got a call saying that Todd's Lions Club essay on what it means to me to be an American won first place out of all Second grade at Chubbuck School. He does not know yet and will receive his award at the end of the year.
Trevor has invited the entire ward to his birthday party and cant wait to turn 5, he is an independent little boy and likes to go to preschool 2 times a week. And he is excited to be writing his name and loves to play the "I SPY" game. If you listen closely you can catch him singing primary songs all the time but don't ask him because he will deny everything.
I found the perfect way to babysit the twins take one scary halloween mask and peek my head out around the corner. Those two set speed records for sliding down the stairs to get away. and they stay downstairs as long as you peek your head down there every once in awhile to keep them from coming up. I am sure I will go to Hell for this one but it is actually very very funny to watch. well to those of you who read this in the words of the great E OR "thanks for noticing me.

Ready, Set, Go!!!!

Well we decided to make a blog and start posting since the rest of you were. However I think this will be mostly for Mom to Share pictures of the kids with Uncle Jeff and Aunt Liz down in Vegas.

We are all doing well here and the weather has finally started to get cold at night (22 for the low this morning) Todd and Dad are heading to go pheasant hunting for Todd's first time and they just might shoot a goose or two along the way. Todd has been waiting to go for a long time and is like a kid on Christmas eve, he kept waking up every few hours asking if it was time to go yet.

Liz we pulled a Mom and Carol last night on Trevor, as Todd and I had to go to the store we left and then Sarah left a few minutes later with the Twins. Appearently she thought Trevor was with Dad and Todd, so needless to say Trevor spent the next 2 hours home alone until dad got back. The only thing he said to us is that "you left me here all by myself and that hurts my feelings" Nothing a trip to the video store and a little disney ratatouille wouldnt take care of.
